You heard it here first: Eastern European standby Tzarevna is completely rebranding and giving way to Yo+Shoku, a pop-up dining experience in the same space. The menu will take cues from the owners’ Ukrainian, Taiwanese, and Russian heritage, so get ready for borscht curry udon, maitake mushroom gratin, and more, starting on Oct. 20.
NYC's New Restaurant Openings
The owners of Tzarevna, a Russian spot on the Lower East Side, have transformed that restaurant into a place serving Western-influenced Japanese food. Omurice with mole negro, a BEC okonomiyaki, and chicken karaage with waffles are just a few of the things on the menu. Yo+Shoku is currently billed as a pop-up, but it will operate for at least nine months.
